yesterday, my laptop officially died for good. we knew this day was coming (it was coming on 7 years old!), so we've been preparing. i picked up my new laptop today! i got my first macbook :) unfortunately, i've only ever used PCs, so i feel a little bit like i'm seeing a computer for the first time ever.
i'll probably be spending the next week or so getting acquainted, and figuring out how to get my old files onto my new computer!
see you soon <3
I bet you’re used to the Mac now, Katie. :D I’m impressed that you were able to hold on to your laptop for seven years. Making that possible is due to one of the two: your laptop was very durable, or you took good care of it. Well, I’d like to think it was a little bit of both. It’s way too late, but I still want to congratulate you on your “new” laptop! :)

You must be a very good laptop owner! =D Well, if you want your MacBook to last seven years or even more, better take care of its battery. Set a reminder to charge and discharge the battery at least once a month. Install updates as well, since Apple periodically releases updates that may improve battery performance. Hope this helps, Katie!

@Benita: Well for me, the key to keeping your laptop in good condition lies in taking good care of it. No matter how great and efficient your laptop is, if you don’t know how to take good care of it, it wouldn’t last for long . Like anything else out there, our laptop needs proper care and maintenance, so you have to make sure that you provide it.
